Dondi`s Pizza in Arlington Heights

Wow, where to begin. They don't have air condition in this place, it's a 95° day and inside is SWELTERING. That wouldn't be an issue if I was just in and out, but for whatever reason it took 15 minutes for ONE SLICE of plain cheese pizza. The young kid at the counter was rude, no eye contact, blunt, and he just threw my credit card on the table instead of handing it to me like a human being should. About the pizza, I enjoyed half of it until I saw that THERE WAS A HAIR IN MY PIZZA! It was super short and coarse like a beard hair, or perhaps from some other unmentionable body part! Obviously at that point I threw the rest away practically gagging. Unprofessional, not hygienic, slow, and overall unpleasant. Definitely will not be coming back.

Been going to Dondis for 8 years. Pizza was always amazing, but under the new owners it was good for the first 2-3 months and then started to slide in consistency and recipe to old owners quality. Each time we order it is the same pizza order, but taste seems to vary as much as Chicago politics and weather. I am writing this in a bit of distaste after my pizza I just ate. This particular order looked like it missed having the proper topping, so they just tossed it on top of the pizza, but cooked/burned them in a pan to mask the mistake before tossing them on the pizza. Not sure of this, but either way it was not good and nothing close to the original owners recipe/pizza. Sad, but will be parting ways of eating there after soo many years.

Once my 5 star, it's been inconsistent for the last few years, both with the new and old owners. Every other time I order, the pizzas are bland?

Came in for a slice at 1pm and didn’t have sausage. Ordered pepperoni and took over 15 minutes. The professionalism lacked

Ordered a simple large 1/2 sausage - 1/2 pepperoni pizza and wings at 7:06 pm and it is now 8:25 and the pizza has yet to arrive. This is the first time placing and order with Dondi's pizza and without even eating a slice (because it has yet to arrive), I will stick with Wayne's. I apologize to Wayne for this singular instance of infidelity.

Great service, very nice people and FAST, particularly for a Saturday night. We ordered a 12 inch thin crust sausage and mushroom and a side of wings. Food was hot when we sat down to eat. The 12 inch was generous, more like 13 inches. The crust was crisp and the meat was flavorful. I was, however, disappointed with the sauce. It was not evenly spread over the pizza, so some parts had none at all. It was bland and desperately needed more herbs. Unfortunately, I wouldn't order again because of this...

Niece loves it!! So, I had to try it. OMG. Taste, texture, big chunks of sausage, not too heavy on the sauce, and a fair price. Use the coupons too!

Pizza was yummy! The staff were awesome! And a plus is they deliver to the hospital!

Placed an online order, it said the food would be ready in 30 minutes. Arrived and they said “On the website it said a 30 minute wait but it’s actually 50 minutes.” Had to wait in my car for another 30 minutes to get two 10 inch pizzas that weren’t even worth the wait. Just trying to support a local business during this time, but their customer service was awful.

Dondi's is absolutely one of the best pizza places in this area; and we have tried many of them! Their sauce and crust are second to none ! They are a small locally owned and operated business; and all of the employees are super nice! Their sausage is amazing (not sure if it is homemade) but it sure tastes like it. Also they have some great daily specials through the week. Our favorite one is Wednesday 16" 2 topping pizza for $15! Give these guys a try; you won't regret it!

A small place, That's BIG on pizza. They have fabulous pizza. Thin, Pan, Stuffed, Double Dough. Great specials. $5/ 12" cheese pizzas, on Mondays. $10/ 14" one topping pizzas, on Tuesdays. Besides having the best pizza around,the staff is very friendly !!

Their Pan pizza " deep dish" is the best around.Fellinis has the best thin crust,dine in ,don't carry out.

They have some of the best stuffed pizzas in the area. First started going here when I was a little kid over 30 years ago, was the go-to place when dinner guests were expected. Recently moved back a few years ago. Owners are very friendly and are involved with the community.

The 5 star reviews are right, this is my favorite local pizza place after moving here 2 years ago. Delicious thin crust pizza. You can also order online which is great.

Absolutely horrible the most disgusting pizza I’ve ever had in my life will never ever ever never even tell my dog about this place. They should be able to give out negative reviews I will give them a -5 stars

Been going here since I could ride my bike! Family tradition to get a Dondi's pizza for over 40 years! Still have the phone number memorized I have called it so many times! Love the Cheese & Sausage thin crust!

Had the dondi special, I usually like my pizza with easy cheese and not gooey but their pizza cheese is delicious. If you want to try a different kind of pizza try their pizza. Fresh ingredients all the time. By the way I live in Chicago and trek up there to have their pizza.

Their "HUGE" slices are no joke. I couldn't finish it in one sitting. The pizza slice was really "cheeeeeesy", just how i like it. It's not the best pizza I ever had. But... it was good. Well worth the price. Bon appetite.

I will tell you this, the pizza is good the price is ok the delivery SUCKS! My personal opinion is if you are going to order pizza from these guys GO PICK IT YOURSELF if not be prepared to wait longer that they tell you! Other pizza companies are at least honest about their times these guys not!

Pizza has almost no flavor and barely any toppings. Way to much cheese. Crust tastes like flour. Wish I could give less then I star. Ate 2 slices gave the rest to my dog.....he wouldn’t eat it

Just moved here from South Florida but I’m originally from the Midwest, Ordered some Dondi’s Pizza and WOW!! I almost forgot how wonderful Chicago Style Pizza is. If you want some of the best Pizza or Appetizers this is your new pizza spot. You won’t be disappointed.

Horrible service called in my order and gave my credit information was put on hold for 10 minutes. Hung up called back to cancel and I'm still on hold 20 minutes later. HOPE YOU ARE NOT SEND THE PIZZAS I'LL REFUSE DELIVERY!!!! CANCELING THE CHARGES. HORRIBLE!!

Dondi's has the best pizza and employees in the whole Chicago area! Even better than Gino's East. Their tomato sauce is second to none! Outstanding!

Pretty damn good pizza! lol good service, friendly staff and fast service (I usually pick-up). Delivery on Friday & Saturday night's can take a bit, but that's understandable. Cant blame the wait on delivery when they provide quality pizza... Especially Friday & Saturday night's

I have been getting my carryout pizza from Dondi's for over 50 years. I moved to Wrigleyville 26 years ago and have not found as good a thin crust pizza in Chicago. The tomato sauce is special, the italian sausage is better than everyone's. Its perfect. I get Dondis whenever I'm in Arlington heights.

Dondi’s has great thin crust pizza and their staff is always friendly and respectful. I go there all the time and they consistently have delicious pizza!

Pizza was just ok, not bad but nothing special. The place is overpriced in my opinion, especially for the quality of pizza that they serve. Would not recommend to a friend.

My family and I had Dondi's Pizza last night. It's been a couple of years since I had it myself, and I was quite disappointed. We told them that we had a movie to catch, and they subsequently guaranteed the the pizza would be ready in 40 minutes, but it took around 1 hour and 20 minutes to make instead. In addition, there were 7-8 people impatiently waiting in line. I was told that there are some new owners, and the service/quality deteriorated since then. I think it's quite deceptive to have all the stellar reviews of the old owners continue on when it's an entirely new business in my eyes. They're removing most of the garlic bread/pasta options (ridiculous for a pizza joint, especially the garlic bread option), and just specializing in pizza.. The pizza was okay, but i could tell it was rushed. Downfall of a great business. >.<

Got the stuffed pizza with sausage. Man this place doesn't skimp on toppings. I've never felt a heavier slice of pizza in my life. So so good! Possibly the best stuffed pie in Chicago.

I have been ordering fro Dondis for 20 years and it was always good under the previous owners. It was always 25 minutes for your pizza to be ready, if it was 30 minutes they were really busy. Since new owners wait times have gone to 45 minutes to an hour. They have discontinued sandwiches. They appear to be using the same recipes because the pizza tastes the same, it is still good. However the last 2 times I have ordered, the cheese and toppings have moved and there are pieces with nothing on them. I dont know how they are throwing the pizza into the box, but I live 2 blocks away and it doesnt have anything to do with driving. I havent had any issues in 20 years and now 2 weeks in a row. I think I will be patronizing another pizza establishment

Twice I've ordered for pick up only to arrive after the requested time and my order wasn't even staryed. This last time was on a Sunday evening so it wasn't busy. Everyone in the back was joking and laughing. I miss the old owners. I wonder if the food has gotten as bad as the service.
